Merlin M. Raymond
Merlin M. Raymond, 80, Bushnell, died at 2:44 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb. He was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Abingdon, the son of John G. and Elizabeth (Earnst) Raymond. He married Kathryn I. Benson Jan. 21, 1942, in Kahoka Mo. She preceded him in death June 27, 1984. He is survived by three daughters, Janet Karge, League City, Texas, Cindy (Tom) Turner, Galesburg and Linda (Dave) Juliusson, Bushnell; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one half brother and one stepbrother. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He worked for Vaughn and Bushnell Mfg. Co., Bushnell, for 35 years, retiring in December 1986. He was a volunteer fireman for 18 years and was a member of the Bushnell V.F.W. Post #1422. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Broady officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bushnell Fire and Rescue Squad. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell, is in charge of arrangements. |
