Robert Fielder

Robert L. Fielder, 67, Galesburg, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born May 2, 1937, in Indian Point Township, Knox County, the son of Ross R. and Gertrude (Tuttle) Fielder. He married Edna Verlea Vance July 24,1965, in East Galesburg. She survives.

He is also survived by one son, Ric Fielder, Galesburg; one brother, Phil (Charlotte) Fielder, Knoxville; two sisters, Joan Tabb and Jean Fielder, both of Abingdon; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He worked for Gunther Construction Company for 37 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 627, where he served as a steward for several years.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Milton Marquith officiating.

Cremation was accorded.
