Dolly Ann Vanskike
Dolly Ann Vanskike, 68, Monmouth, died Saturday evening, Feb. 26, 2005, at North Western Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
She was born May 8, 1936, in Canton, the daughter of Leslie E. and Maudie Pansy (Poston) Johnson. She married George Vanskike, Sr. They were divorced.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Raymond) Lambert and Michelle (Victor) Laws, both of Monmouth; two sons, Clayton (Donna) Vanskike and Steve (Julie) Vanskike, both of Monmouth; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Darlene Rice, Carol Ashby, and Maudie Riley, all of Abingdon, and Florence Walker, Milan; seven brothers, Frank Johnson, Greenbush; Carl Johnson, rural Roseville, Emil Johnson, rural London Mills, Lloyd Ray, rural Gladstone, Ronnie Johnson, rural St. Augustine, Jimmie Johnson, rural Greenbush, and Wayne Johnson, rural Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and special friend Mike Harveth.
She was reared in the Canton and Abingdon areas and attended rural schools in the Canton and Abingdon area.
She was employed a Bersted Hobby Craft in Monmouth.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed embroidery and cross stitch.
She was a Green Bay Packers fan and also enjoyed going to the boat and Country Music.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Friends may call Thursday at the Funeral Home where her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday evening.
Burial will be in the Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth.
A memorial fund is being established for Diabetes by her family.
