Arlene Deloris (Allen) Simpson, 81, formerly of Blandinsville, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

She was born July 5, 1927, near Blandinsville, the daughter of Lawrence and Iona (Bixler) Allen.

She married Dale Woolfe in 1944 and they moved to Arizona in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1958. She later married Charles Simpson. He preceded her in death in 2002.

She is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Craig) Fitzgerald, Casa Grande, Ariz., and Lynne Wolfe, Scottsdale; one sister, Evelyn Hainline, Blandinsville; five brothers, Murry (Mary Lou) Allen, Macomb, Jeri (Carol) Allen, Tempe, Ariz., Jack (Diane) Allen, Reno, Nev., Macks Allen, Blandinsville, and Carl (Lynne) Allen, Blandinsville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters; several step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Angela, one brother, Lawrence, and one granddaughter, Kim. She worked at Motorola in Phoenix for many years before her retirement.

She was a very loving and generous person and enjoyed being with family. She was an avid reader.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

There were no services per her request.
