Ila F. Bricker
Ila F. Bricker, 100, Havana, died at 2:28 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Mason District Hospital, Havana. She was born March 31, 1908, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, the daughter of William H. and Ilma Dell (Mayall) Thompson. She married Ernest Bill Lockard on Oct. 30, 1929, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1954. She then married Robert Fred Bricker on April 20, 1957, in Astoria. He preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1976. She is survived by one sister, Marjorie L. Beekman, Ipava; one aunt, Gladys Heflin, Bushnell; companion, George E. Bohm, Lewistown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elzie Thompson and Hiriam Thompson, and one sister, Florence Miller. She was a homemaker who helped raise her sister’s children. She sewed for them, making dresses and skirts for the girls and shirts for the boys. She also helped with the work on the farm. She was a member of Summum Christian Church, where she taught girls and women’s Sunday School classes. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria, with the Rev. Warren Hughes officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Summum Cemetery.
