Dorothy B. Robbins

Dorothy B. Robbins, 82, La Prairie, died at 6:05 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Blessing Hospital, Quincy.

She was born Dec. 29, 1926, in Palmyra, Mo., the daughter of Harvey and Sara Matilda (Reber) Triplett.

She married Alva LaVerne Robbins on Feb. 20, 1949, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death July 17, 2004.

She is survived by one son, David LaVerne (Jodi) Robbins, Danvers; three daughters, Peggy Lee (Stan) Branch, Normal, Shirley Jean (Henry) Nash, Bowen, and Christine Diane (Aldo) Humke, La Prairie; 13 grandchildren, Angela Nash Shelor, Plymouth, Ben Nash, Macomb, David Branch, Normal, Andrea Nash Erb, Louisville, Ky., Rebecca Branch Hadaway, Canal Winchester, Ohio, Stephen Humke, Mackinaw, John Humke, Loraine, Katie Humke, La Prairie, Annette and Ashton Robbins, Danvers, Amy DeHart Neal, Danvers, Angie DeHart, Bloomington, and Adam DeHart, Encinitas, Calif.; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Jessie Lou Johnson.

She was a homemaker and a 1945 graduate of Palmyra High School. She was a charter member of the Faith Baptist Church, near Camp Point, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Faith Baptist Church, near Camp Point, with the Rev. Tom Robbins officiating.

Burial will be in Golden Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church.

Hamilton Funeral Home, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.
