Richard A. Malott
Richard A. Malott, 73, Macomb, died at 8:04 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb. He was born May 6, 1935, in Seaville, the son of Oliver and Ruth (Pickel) Malott. He married Barbara Fosdyck on Oct. 26, 1956. She preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Martin) Beans, Table Grove, and Elizabeth Malott, Macomb; one son, Roger Malott, Pennsylvania; one brother, Elmer Malott, Bushnell; three sisters, Judy (Les) Milby, Macomb, Marilyn Lemley, Bardolph, and Karen (Don) Pearce, Macomb; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was also preceded in death by one half brother, Gilbert Pickel, one sister, Joyce Evens, and one great-grandchild, Angel Lampkins. He lived in Table Grove for 30 years before moving to Macomb in 2002. He worked on many construction projects in the Macomb area, including several of the buildings on the WIU campus. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb. Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wesley Village, Macomb.
