Theodore E. 'Ted' Selser Jr.

ALEXIS-Theodore E. “Ted’’ Selser, Jr., age 61, Alexis, died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Rock Island, the son of Theodore Sr. and Theresa (Wilson) Selser. He married Karla Richardson Aug. 20, 1992, in Monmouth. She survives.

Also surviving are daughter, Emily (Sam) Eaves, Des Moines, Iowa; son, Willard (Nicole) Selser, West Des Moines, Iowa; stepdaughter, Leslie Brewer of Alexis; five grandchildren; sisters, Lois Cameron, St. Augustine, Evelyn Bridger, Galesburg, and Betty (David) Barbero, Galesburg; and brothers, George (Marilyn) Selser, Beardstown, and Carl Selser, Galesburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was reared and educated in the Monmouth, Galesburg and Joy areas.

He served in the United States Army from Oct. 26, 1966, until Oct. 11, 1968, during the Vietnam Era.

He worked at Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg, where he was a hose finisher until his retirement.

Cremation rites were accorded. There will be no services at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory, Knoxville, was in charge of arrangements.
