Vera M. (Demler) Lillie
CUBA-Vera M. (Demler) Lillie, 79, Cuba, passed away at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Holder, the daughter of Lester and Edith (Cope) Boaz. She married Dewey Demler Jan. 14, 1950, in Bloomington. He died Feb. 23, 1977. She later married L. F. “Jack’’ Lillie May 10, 1980, in Mahomet. He died in September 1999. Survivors include her mother, Edith Boaz, Bloomington; one son, Steve (Kathy) Demler, Cuba; one daughter, Connie (Lee) Wise, Cuba; two stepsons, Tom (Joanne) Lillie, Orefield, Pa., and Sam Lillie, Peoria; one stepdaughter, Lori (Dave) Hoffman, White Hall, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Sharon) Boaz, Bloomington; and four sisters, Laverne (Clyde) Alexander, Morton, Phyllis Boaz, Normal, Patty Oesch, Peoria, and Linda (Jerry) Davis, Foley, Ala. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her father, one brother and one sister. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Grant Keime Memorial Fund or Cass-Putman Rescue Squad.
