Robert “Bob” Bodeen

ALTONA-Robert “Bob’’ Boyd Bodeen, 90, Altona, died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2009, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

He was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Alpha, the son of Charles and Victoria (Anderson) Bodeen. He married Georgette Jackson Sept. 15, 1946, in Kewanee. She preceded him in death Oct. 4, 2006.

He is survived by a son Jack (Laurie) Bodeen, Berwick; a daughter, Virginia (Kirk) Stevens, Galva; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a brother in infancy.

He graduated from Galva High School in 1936. He had worked at Best Displays in Galva and also had farmed.

He was a member of Altona United Methodist Church and Altona Senior Citizens. He also had belonged to the Knox County Farm Bureau.

Services were held Monday, March 23, 2009, at the Rux Funeral Home in Galva with the Rev. David Pyell officiating.

Burial was in the Alpha Cemetery.
