Nondas Viola Thrasher
Nondas Viola Thrasher, 87, of Bushnell, died at 11:53 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
She was born Sept. 22, 1921, in rural Good Hope to William Robert and Gladys Lee Pennell. She married Lloyd J.Thrasher Dec. 27, 1944, in Good Hope. He survives. She is also survived by one son, Lloyd Eldon (Sheryl) Thrasher, Bushnell; two daughters. Marilyn (John) Bricker, Bushnell and Roberta (Richard) Thorman. Macomb; three sisters, Elinor (Marlin) Pendell, Good Hope, Darlyne Gossage, Bushnell and Elaine Huston, Washington; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Ronald Eugene Thrasher; one brother, Wayne Pennell and one sister, Marilee Walters. She was a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She worked in building services at Western Illinois University for 20 years. Her life was devoted to her family and church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, Macomb, with the Rev. Al Simonson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's or to Jerusalem United Methodist Church.
