Shirley Oder, 78, of Macomb, died at 8:25 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Heartland Healthcare Center, Macomb.
She was born July 9, 1930, in rural Avon to Rollin C. and Lavina Wheeler Bradley.
She married Preston K. "Pres' Oder in 1950. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kendall
She is survived by one close nephew, Gregg Bradley, Silvis; one close niece, Linda Coulter, Taylor Ridge; three great-nieces and three great-great-nieces.
She lived most of her life in Macomb. She was involved in horse training, gave riding lessons to all of the kids and showed horses for many years. She and her husband ran Preston Oder Stables in Macomb for many years.
She was a graduate of Monmouth College, Monmouth and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb.
Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery, Bushnell.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice.
