Michael David Kassing


Michael David Kassing, 28, of Troy, Mo., formerly of Augusta, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, near Troy.


He was born July 17, 1980, in Carthage, Illinois to Chris Nelson Schone and Michael Ray Kassing.

He is survived by one son, Tristan Kassing; his parents, Chris (David) Schone, Plymouth and Michael Ray Kassing, Jonesburg, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Dick and Shirley Nelson, Springfield; maternal grandmother, Shirley Kassing, Mt. Sterling; one brother, Brent Kassing, Plymouth; one sister, Stephanie Kassing, Macomb; one step-brother, Michael (Mikayla) Schone, Bowen; one step-sister, Michelle (Scott) Dooley, Carthage; numerous aunts and uncles and a special friend, Danielle and her family of Troy, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Don Kassing.

He was a 1998 graduate of Southeastern High School in Augusta. Upon graduation he served his country in the United Stated Marine Corps. He was of the Christian faith.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2008, in Hamilton Funeral Home, Augusta.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his son, Tristan.

The Hamilton Funeral Home, Augusta is handling arrangements.
