Linda J. Moore, 61, of Carthage, died at 2:55 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Memorial Hospital, Carthage.
She was born March 20, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Alvin C. and Marie E. (Mitze) Buckert.
She married William L. Dorothy in 1966.
She later married Larry Lee Moore in 1977. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was with her companion, Rolland Reed, from 1993 until his death in 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Russell Buckert; one sister, Joyce Hartweg; two brothers-in-law, Leon Hartweg and Frankie Harvey and one sister-in-law, Freda Buckert.
She survived by two sons, Colin K. Dorothy and his wife, Juliann, Hamilton and Chad E. (Elizabeth A.) Dorothy, Carthage; two step-daughters, Tina (Dee) Boley, Hamilton and Brenda (Bill) Steck, Carman; six grandchildren, Kelly Ann and Coy William Dorothy, Hamilton and Hannah, Jonathon, Leah, and Jacob Dorothy, Carthage; six step-grandchildren, Toni and Ashley Boley and Maria, Abbey, Katie, and John Steck; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bob Buckert, Fred (Ruth) Buckert and Larry (Cheryl) Buckert, all of Hamilton; one sister, Betty Harvey, West Point, Iowa; several nieces and nephews and two brothers-in-law, Mark and Mike Dorothy.
She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1966.
She had worked at the F/S office in Carthage for many years before transferring to the Warsaw office.
From 1983, until her retirement in 2008, she worked as the county office assistant for the USDA/FSA in Carthage.
She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Printy Funeral Home, Carthage.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Cremation rites will follow the service on Tuesday.
Memorials may be directed to the Western Illinois Threshers or Blessing Hospice of Hancock County.
