AVON-John A. Myers, 45, Avon, died Monday, May 18, 2009, in Fulton County, Illinois. He was born March 19, 1964, in Galesburg, the son of William L. and Carolyn R. (Guenther) Myers. He married Brenda Sackfield September 28, 1991 in Cameron. Surviving are two sons, Johnathan William Myers, and Jacob “Jake’’ Lewis Myers, both of Smithshire; two sisters, Laura Ann (Denny) Easley, Cameron, Susan Kay (Roger) Williams of Knoxville; two brothers, Michael Edward (Cindy) Myers, Victorville, California and Jimmy Lee (Laura) Myers, Monmouth; many nieces and nephews and fiancee, Heather Heap, Avon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William L. “Billy’’ Myers, Jr. He was raised and educated in Woodhull and Rio, graduating from Alwood High School in Woodhull in 1982. He received his Drinking Water Operator Certificate on June 8, 2000 from Illinois EPA. He worked for the Knoxville Water Department for 14 years. He was currently employed by the city of Avon as Street Superintendent in Avon. He was of the Baptist Faith. Graveside Memorial services were held May 23, 2009 at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg with the Rev. Trish Chapman officiating. Memorials may be made to the John Myers Memorial in care of John and Jacob Myers at the Security Savings Bank in Monmouth Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville, was in charge of arrangements.
