Margie A. Duffy


Margie A. Duffy, 83, of Carthage, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at Banner Hospital, Mesa, Ariz.


She was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Warsaw, to Lafayette and Geneva (DeJaynes) Phillips.  She married Harlan C. Duffy Oct. 1, 1941, in Yuma, Ariz. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1988.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Barbara Jean in infancy; two brothers, Glen and Dan Phillips and one sister, Daisy Schafer.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Bob) Hubbard, Carthage and Vickie (Neil) Marshall, Nauvoo; one sister, Darlene Fuller, Ventura, Calif.; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Dan) Head, St. Peters, Mo., Kelly Burr, Kansas City, Mo., Shelley (Jamie) Bush, Nauvoo, Doug Marshall, Nauvoo and Jose (Coco) Gonzalez, Ferris; 13 great-grandchildren, Katherine (Ben) Crider, Creston and Zachary Lambert, Ian Mullens, Jaley and Corbin Bush, Jeremey and Cody Marshall and Michelle, Michael, and Megan Gonzales; two step-grandsons Dustin Ranck and Andrew (Kayla) Boyer; three great-great-grandchildren, Alexander Michael and Maddison Crider and Alexa Boyer; several nieces, nephews and companion, Oral Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Printy Funeral Home, Carthage.

Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services at Printy Funeral Home, Carthage.

A memorial fund has been established
