GALESBURG-Sandra “Sandy’’ Young, 68, Galesburg, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Care Center of Abingdon.

Sandy was born March 31, 1941, the daughter of Victor and Fannie Eckridge, in Kentucky.

She moved to Plonka Terrace in Galesburg March 11, 1997, where she made many friends and touched the lives of those around her. She enjoyed listening and dancing to music, as well as helping out around the house. In her free time, Sandy loved stringing beads, making crafts, playing bingo, and spending time with her friends.

She was a member of the Red Hat Club and cherished spending her days in Core 12 at KCCDD where she enjoyed socializing with staff and peers.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in the Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
