GALESBURG-Delbert L. Evans, 90, died at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Heartland Health Care Center.

He was born Sept.. 7, 1918, in Abingdon, the son of Dudley and Marie Rebecca (Thomas) Evans. He married Marjorie Sears in Kahoka, Mo., June 3,1941. She died in 2003.

He is survived by one son, Lee (Jean) Evans, Peoria; one brother, Lester A. (Georgia) Woods, Galesburg; one sister, Ruby (Boyd) Curtis, Galesburg; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

He farmed in the Colchester area, retiring in 2000.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Pilot Grove Cemetery in Burnside.

Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
