Beverly A. Wilson
GALESBURG-Beverly A. Wilson, 87, Galesburg, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.
She was born June 3, 1921, in London Mills, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Brown) Bhear.
She married C.R. “Woody’’ Wilson, Feb. 7, 1941. in Galesburg. He preceded her in death May 28, 1980.
She is survived by grandchildren, Kevin Wilson, Galesburg, Randy Wilson, Galesburg, and Gary Wilson, New Haven, Conn.; four great-grandchildren, Connor Wilson, Craig Wilson, Todd Wilson and Victoria Wilson; and a brother, Bernard (Willadeane) Bhear, Toulon.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. Wilson and Gary Wilson; and one daughter, Connie Wilson.
She was reared and educated in the Abingdon and London Mills areas.
She worked in the cafeteria at Knox College for 13 years then moved to Virginia in 1979 where she worked in the fabric department at Ben Franklin in Warrenton, Va. She moved back to the area in 1995.
She helped with the Boy Scouts in Galesburg.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, with the Rev. Gary Bane officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville was in charge of arrangements.
