Velma Hilka Kauffman

Velma Hilka Kauffman, 93, died at 11:53 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2009, at Blessing Hospital, Quincy.

She was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Clayton, to Amos and Agnes Henrick Kauffman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Gary "Herbie" Kauffman.

Surviving is a brother, Lawrence Kauffman, Augusta; a sister, Helen Kauffman, Augusta; two nephews, Larry Kauffman, Dallas, Texas, and Rob Kauffman, Golden; a great nephew, Sacett Tyrell Dinsdale; two great nieces, Jennessee Lee Juan Kauffman and Jubalee Merle Kauffman; and a great- great nephew, Riggin Jat.

She was an animal lover and took great joy in spending time with them.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Hamilton Funeral Home, Clayton, with the Rev. Dixie Croxton officiating.

Burial will be at South Side Cemetery, Clayton.

Visitation will be held 5:30-7 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2009, at Hamilton Funeral Home, Clayton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
