Dr. Cathy Skinn

HILLSBORO-Dr. Cathy Skinn, 62, eldest daughter of Helen Skinn, Hillsboro, and the late Paul Skinn, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, following a long illness.

A celebration of life was held Sunday, June 14, 2009, at New Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Charles, Mo., where Dr. Skinn was a founding member.

She was born in Hillsboro in 1946, and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1964. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Illinois and taught high school for several years in Abingdon before returning to school. She earned a Doctor of Medical Dentistry from Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Skinn had her own dental practice in St. Louis for many years. She lived in St. Charles, Mo., and was active in New Hope Presbyterian Church’s governance, music program and especially its children’s programs and services.

She leaves her mother, Helen Skinn, Hillsboro; and two sisters, Sally Doyen, Storrs, Conn., and Virginia “Ginny”’ Riegel, San Francisco, Calif.

Memorials may be directed to the ASPCA, Humane Society of Missouri or a charity of the donor’s choice.
