Charles M. Cavett



Charles M. Cavett, 90, of Macomb and formerly of Colchester, died at 8:30 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2009 at Wesley Village, Macomb.

He was born on August 21, 1918 in Bethel Township to Charles and Mary Rigg Cavett. He married Marilyn Watson on April 3, 1948 at the Camp Creek Parsonage. She survives.

He is also survived by three children, Beverly (Roger) Lundeen, Galesburg, Lynn (Cindy) Cavett and Lonnie (Vickie) Cavett, Macomb; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Karen), Jennifer, Max and Jack Cavett and Traci, Justin, Shannon and Chade Lundeen.

He was employed at the Union National Bank, Citizens National Bank and after 24 years at the Colchester Savings and Loan, he retired in 1980.

He loved the outdoors, especially biking, hiking and traveling. He was a member of the Colchester Baptist Church, the Gideons, and the Macomb American Legion. Charles was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Colchester First Baptist Church, Colchester, with the Reverend Dennis Clements officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Jones Mortuary, Colchester. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester.  Memorials may be made to the Colchester First Baptist Church.
