STOCKTON, Calif.-Bonnadine Spurgeon Johnson, 95, died June 13, 2009, in Stockton, Calif.

She was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Indian Point Township, Knox County, Ill., the only daughter of Walter and Ethel Spurgeon, Abingdon. She married Floyd Johnson in Modesto, Calif. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Cleary, Concord, Calif., and Roberta Westphal, Forest Hill, Calif.; one granddaughter, Carrie Darnell, Stockton, and a sister-in-law, Annabel Spurgeon, Knoxville; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald Spurgeon, Abingdon, and Max Spurgeon, Knoxville.

She was a housewife, and successful gardener in California. She taught crafts to many. She was a member of the Modesto Methodist Church.

Family services have been arranged.
