Mildred V. Bricker 6/9/2009
Mildred V. Bricker, 89, of Macomb, died at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
She was born February 20, 1920 in Greenwood County, Kansas, to William and Ella Ann (Simpkins) Friend. She married Charles E. Bricker on August 1, 1942 in Omaha, Neb. They later divorced. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Sample, Lebanon, Ore.; one brother, Rev. Leon Friend, Tahlequah, Okla.; four sisters, Florine Viles, Okla., Willa Born, Kansas, Hazel Conde, Calif., Darlene Sata, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marilyn Bricker and Bette Bricker; one son, Charles William “Buck” Bricker who was killed in Vietnam in 1967; one sister; one infant sister and one brother. She lived near Ray until 1961 when she moved to Macomb where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a Practical Nurse, a Gold Star Mother, a member of the War Dads Auxiliary and McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary. Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb, with Pastor Wally Holt officiating. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Macomb, McDonough County Humane Society or the Heartland Health Care Center.
