Robert B. McElvain


Robert B. McElvain, 84, of Bushnell, died at 8:26 a.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009 at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
He was born July 1, 1925 in Rural Bushnell to Blaine W. and Emma Rouse McElvain. He married Harriet Rogers in Glen Ellyn on June 16, 1945. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Mike (Shirley) McElvain, Heyworth, and Pat (Janice) McElvain, Kewanee; one daughter, Sue (Donald) Myers, Good Hope; five granddaughters, Amber (Rick) Driskell, Mary, Sarah and Kera McElvain, and Lora (Ben) Lawson; and three great-grandchildren, Blake and Brittany Driskell and Maggie Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He was a member of the Smithfield Trap Shooting Club, Bushnell Odd Fellows and a past member of the Bushnell Lions Club. He was retired from McElvain Trailer Sales.  He was also a W.W. II U.S. Navy Veteran.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell, with Pastor Dave Eden officiating.
Burial will be at Bushnell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at that funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Bushnell Rescue Squad.
