Eldon S. Auten

MACOMB-Eldon S. Auten, Macomb, formerly of Avon, passed away at 5 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1929, in Macomb, the son of Daniel and Freida (Standard) Auten. He married Mary Evelyn Phelps July 26, 1950, in Prairie City. She preceded him in death March 2, 2006.
He is survived by one son, Daniel Auten, Lowry City, Mo.; a special friend Betty R. Hodges, Macomb, with whom he made his home for the last two years; two grandchildren, Jesse and Nickolas Auten; two great-grandchildren; Nova Eris Ann Auten and Jayden Tyler Auten.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and parents; one infant daughter, Rebecca Jean Auten; two brothers Gaylen and Daniel (Junior) Auten.
He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Moline Masonic Lodge #33.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 3, 2009, in Avon Cemetery with Pastor Jon Keck officiating
Memorial contributions may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program.
Corman Memorial Home, Avon, was in charge of arrangements.
