Vivian I. McNeeley


Vivian I. McNeeley, 89 of Pekin, formerly of Bushnell, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1920, in Bushnell, to Field and Stella Coons Smith. She married Guy O. McNeeley on Bushnell on Oct. 25, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Clarence Smith.

She is survived by one son, Jim McNeeley, Pekin; one sister, Norma Coplin, Louisiana; two granddaughters, Jennifer McNeeley Norman, Chicago, and Michele (Brandon) Beekman, M.D., Brookfield; three nephews and one niece.

Vivian was born and raised in Bushnell and graduated from Bushnell High School in 1938.  She was an active member of the U.S.O. during W.W.II and an active member of the Bushnell V.F.W. Post 1422 Ladies Auxillary. She also worked in the Bushnell City Clerk's Office and worked at Mickelberry's in Bushnell during W.W.II.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Fri. Aug. 7, 2009 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Pastor Trisha Chapman officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the time of service on Friday.

Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
