ROSEVILLE-D. George Ray, 57, Roseville, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at 10:53 a.m. in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. He was born Dec. 28, 1951, in Streator, the son of Earl and Margaret (Thompson) Ray. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Ray, Berwick; three sisters, Sharon (John) Wax, Newman, Barb (Ron) Byers, Berwick and Carol (Corky) Shaw, Roseville; seven nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and grandparents, George and Nettie Ray, and Roy and Rose Thompson. George was reared in Rutland until age 12, then moved to the Berwick area. He attended St. Ann’s in Toluca, the Berwick Grade School and then attended Monmouth High School. George loved to farm, and he loved his Massey-Harris tractor, his dogs, and children; especially his nieces and nephews. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth. He enjoyed the last seven years of his life at Roseville Country Manor. Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Immaculate Conception Church.
