George W. Shadwick
George W. Shadwick, 77, of Macomb died at 2:55 a.m., Monday Aug. 17, 2009, at McDonough District Hospital. He was born July 14, 1932, in Topeka, Kan. to George and Maurine (Fritz) Shadwick. He married Kathleen Brunner on Sept. 1, 1989 in Macomb. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Christopher (Loleta) Shadwick, Chatham, Guy Shadwick, Macomb; three daughters, Robin (Todd) Cunningham, Macomb, Kate (Jeff) Ford, Bolingbrook, Sheryl (Bob) Donnell, Macomb; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a professor of American history at Western Illinois University. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid collector of model trains, lover of any and all animals, and was quite the artist, specializing in painting and sculpting. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Aug. 20, 2009, at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Workman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior.
