William L. "Bill" Taylor, 72, of Good Hope, died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born Aug. 14, 1937, in Roodhouse, to Charles W. and Evelyn Madelyn (Whitehead) Taylor. He married Hazel Guarin on July 20, 1956, in Macomb. She passed away July 11, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Charles William and Ralph Todd; one daughter, Suzette Ellen; and one sister, Sandra Brown.
He is survived by seven daughters, Natalie Jayne Taylor, Good Hope, Denise (Sean) O'Conner, Boyle, Ireland, Donna (Rick) Bernsten of Oahu, Hawaii, Pamela (Rick) Stasen, Good Hope, Lura (Cory) Krueger, Blandinsville, Naomi Taylor, Good Hope, and Amy (Nathan) Nelson, Colchester; three sons, Timothy (Tricia) Taylor, Good Hope, Jim (Sandy) Taylor, Macomb, and Stephen (Cindy) Taylor, Colchester; 28 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy (Merle) Milby, Vermont; and two brothers, Jim (Sabrina) Taylor, Macomb, and Rudy (Celia) Taylor, of Overland Park, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.
He attended Macomb High School and lived in Industry for 23 years before moving to Macomb in 1990 and then to Good Hope in 1995. He worked for Finn Corporation for 23 years and later worked for LeRoy Brown Disposal for nine years as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He enjoyed mowing lawns for neighbors and gardening.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at 205 S. Union St., Good Hope.
Family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Fire and Rescue Squad or to his grandchildren's college fund.
