Bruce C. Allaman


Bruce C. Allaman, 86, of Sciota, died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Heartland Healthcare Center, Macomb.
He was born March 20, 1923, in Youngstown, to Harrison B. and Edna Hazel (Caldwell) Allaman. He married Maxine James on June 13, 1941.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Sarah) Allaman, Monmouth, and Lonnie Allaman, Macomb; one daughter, Carolyn (David) Bowman; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta (Deane) Ross, Lafayette, Ind., and Grace Watt, Roseville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Blaine and Lawrence; one sister, Virginia Ault; one daughter-in-law, Carol; and one great-grandson.
He started farming in 1941 in Swan Township, later moved to Point Pleasant Township in Warren County, then to McDonough County in Blandinsville Township, and then later to Sciota. He liked to do carpentry work. He was a member of the Sciota Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Corman Memorial Home, Roseville.
Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Good Hope.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Sciota Christian Church and or Linda’s Fund for Cancer.
