Virginia Lucille Robinson Barr


Virginia Lucille Robinson Barr, 95, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Warsaw, died at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at The Kahl Home for the Aged, Davenport, Iowa.
She was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Warsaw, to Oron and Rosetta (Clinkenbeard) Henkle. She married Lloyd Robinson Sr. on Jan. 9, 1934, in Carthage. He preceded her in death in February 1989. She married Jack Barr in December 1989 in Fort Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death in May 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, four sisters, five brothers and a great grandchild.
She is survived by two sons, Cyrus E. (Brenda) Robinson, Davenport, Iowa, and Donald K. Robinson, Peoria; two daughters-in-law, Lona Robinson, Bloomington, and Sherrill Hobbs, Carthage; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews
She graduated from Warsaw High School. She worked for 35 years as a secretary for Hancock Grain Company, and after her retirement, worked as general secretary for Hunt Drainage System until 1987.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Warsaw, the Order of Eastern Star, Grace Chapter and a member of B.P. & W. She was also a member of Eagles Club, Moose Club and American Legion Auxiliaries in Keokuk. She loved art and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at the Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Julie Azbell officiating.
Family will meet with friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warsaw.
