Alma Ruth Armstrong, 78, of Fort Madison, Iowa, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009.
She was born March 18, 1931, in Fountain Green to Willie and Mary( Shoup) Barrett. She married Raymond Armstrong on Oct. 3, 1951. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Janie Warner of West Point, Iowa; two sons, Bruce Armstrong of Donnellson, Iowa and John Armstrong of Birmington, Wash; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Copeland of Fairfield, Calif, Jean Fitch of Good Hope and Norma Lange of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and one brother Ray Barrett of Macomb.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Women of the Moose. She attended Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, puzzles and her pets.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at King-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Pastor Robin Korschegen officiating.
Burial was in Soldier’s Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa.
