Bill M.Allen, 81, of 226 East Walker, Macomb, passed away at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born on June 27, 1928 in Table Grove to Roy B. and Cora Grimm Allen. He married Eva Robeson on June 27, 1948. She passed away on April 12, 2003. He is also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bill; three sisters and one brother. He is survived by one daughter, Linda (Kavouth) Huy of Long Beach, California; two grandchildren, Billy Rick Allen and Jaclyn Cheryl Allen, both of Oquawka; two brothers, Burley Allen of Galesburg and Bernard Allen of Adair and one sister, Beatrice (Ralph) Farr of Table Grove. He grew up in McDonough County. He returned to Macomb in 1963. He worked as superintendant of grounds at Western Illinois University from 1964 until his retirement in 1994. He also was store manager for Brown, Lynch and Scott in Fairfield, Iowa, Monmouth, Bushnell and Macomb. He is an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Macomb American Legion. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at Oakwood Cemetery with Reverend Ron Green officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion, and the Macomb V.F.W. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 Friday at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.
