Raymond Barnes
Raymond Barnes, 78, of Macomb, died at 10:31 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. He was born Sept. 7, 1931 in Macomb to Leland and Grace Badger Barnes; he married Florence Frakes on Aug. 18, 1952. He is survived by four daughters; Candy (Joe) Bilotti, Margo (Craig) Rutledge, Kim Rae (Bill) Hillyer, Bobbi (Tim) Norton; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers; Charles and Jimmy Barnes; five sisters; Opal, Carol, Donna, Pat and Anita; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Bobby; a brother in infancy; two sisters, Kay and Mary; and one granddaughter, Marissa Bilotti. Raymond served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Macomb VFW Post 1921 and the Macomb Eagles Club. Raymond worked for the Miller Brother’s Block Plant in his early years; he was a Sergeant for the Macomb Police Dept. and retired from the McDonough County Housing Authority. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday Oct. 2, 2009, at the Macomb VFW, 1200 E. Jefferson St. with Mr. Joe Bilotti officiating. Military rites will follow the service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Heartland Health Care Center. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
