Linda Morris

ABINGDON-Linda K. Morris, 53, Abingdon, died at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, in the Care Center of Abingdon.
Linda was born Feb. 29, 1956, in Galesburg, the daughter of Charles and Erma Jean (Courson) Welty, Sr. She married Billy R. Morris Jan. 15, 1979, in Abingdon. He survives.
She is also survived by her aunt, Ruby Swigert; her sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Stephen Welty and Charles Welty, Jr.
Linda lived in the Abingdon area all of her life. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1975.
She was a homemaker and had also worked at the Hardee’s restaurant in Abingdon.
She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church and served on the Mission Board and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, in the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. The Rev. Tom Smith and Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday in the chapel.
