Loren A. Hollenberg


Loren A. Hollenberg 91 of Roseville, died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday September 29, 2009, at the Roseville Country Manor, Roseville.

He was born July 21, 1918 at the family home in rural Roseville, to Alvin Clive and Vesta (Holeman) Hollenberg. He married Wanda White on June 7, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa. She survives.

He is also survived by one daughter Diane (Marvin) Hawk of Roseville; one son Dave (Sue) Hollenberg of Roseville; four grandchildren Sara Simonson of Macomb, Mark (Shelly) Hawk of Seaton, Wendy (Frank) Huston of Roseville, and Brenda (Branson) Parks of Vermont; for great grandchildren Rachel and Nick Hawk of Seaton, Alex Huston of Roseville and Justin Parks of Vermont; one brother Cecil (Naomi) Hollenberg of Monmouth and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one nephew.

He and his wife, Wanda shared 69 years of marriage. In 1965 they moved to Prophetstown, where he was a Tox-O-Wik distributor until 1983 when they retired and moved back to Roseville. He farmed East of Roseville on the family farm. 

He served as a Roseville Boy Scout Leader and coached Little League for many years. He was a member of the Roseville Christian Church, where he served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, the Roseville Chamber of Commerce and the Roseville Lions Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Roseville Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday October 2, 2009 at Corman Memorial Home Roseville.  The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

 Memorials may be made to the Roseville Christian Church and or the Salvation Army.
