Maxine L. Herrington, age 76, of 67 South Farnham Street, Galesburg, Illinois died at 9:55 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 1998, at the Marigold Health Care Center.
Born February 12, 1922, in Abingdon, to Jess and Vergie Peacock Cozad, she married Delmar Jacob Herrington on February 17, 1941, in Burlington, Iowa. He died February 1, 1995.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, Craig of Galesburg; one daughter, Cynthia Danner of El Cajon, California; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Robert Cozad of Galesburg; and one sister, Betty Dickerson, of Galesburg.
She worked for the Abingdon Blue Bell and the Galesburg Protexall.
She was a member and Sunday school teacher of the Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg.
Graveside services were held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Lawn memorial Gardens with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating.
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
