Dean W. Cook
Graveside services for Dean Wesley Cook, 79, of Monmouth, were held Monday, December 27 at 2 p.m. in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. David Johnson officiated.
Mr. Cook passed away on Saturday, December 25, 1999, at 4:55 p.m. in Pinewood Health Care Center, Monmouth. Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Memorial may be left to: the First Christian Church, The Mississippi Valley Chapter of the Alzheimers Association, or to the Pinewood Health Care Center.
A son of Ira and Nettie Thompson Cook, he was born March 27, 1920 in Obert, Neb. He married Vera Jean Ryan on July 12, 1941 in Maskill, Neb., who survives.
He leaves: a daughter, Linda Cook of Davenport, IA; a sister, Mardelle Pedigo of Green Valley, Ariz.; a brother, Francis Cook of Roseville; nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents and a son Larry Dean Cook, preceded him in death.
Mr. Cook grew up and received his education in Obert. He was an Army veteran of World War II, served in the National Guard, and in 1947 received a citation for Meritorious Service from the State of Illinois.
He was an employee of Cummings & Emmerson, managing a Macomb store, and later worked at C&E Motor Supply, Inc. in Monmouth, where he became a co-partner in 1965 and served as its president until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Cook attended the First Lutheran Church for over 50 years. He was a member of the Royal Arch Masons and Marion B. Fletcher American Legion Post in Monmouth.
