John Dean McCullough
John Dean McCullough, age 84, of Licking, Missouri, formerly of Abingdon, Illinois, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2000 at his home.
He was born February 4, 1915 in Abingdon, Illinois, the son of John Louis and Mary Catherine Poole McCullough. He married Dorothy Daye McGinness on December 31,1937 at Kahoka, Missouri. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carol Jean Cozad, Lewistown, Illinois and Shirley Maxine Beavon, Lomax, Illinois; one sister, Jessie DeMott, Lewistown; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one step grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmie Dean McCullough, three brothers and two sisters.
He had lived near Licking, Missouri, since March of 1966 where he farmed until his retirement in 1977. Prior to that had lived in Abingdon and rural Avon, Illinois.
He farmed in Illinois and had worked at Wilson Paper Company, Hansen Lumber and Admirals all in Galesburg.
He was a former member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Abingdon.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Abingdon Cemetery.
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon was in charge of the arrangements.
