Hazel I. Brown
Hazel I. Brown, 82, of 514 S. Campbell St. in Macomb, died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at McDonough District Hospital. She was born July 28, 1917, in McDonough County, to George and Dora Black Rigg. She married Joe Brown Feb, 22, 1938, in Warsaw. He survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Sara Jo) Guy of Tennessee, Barbara Brown of Macomb and Mrs. Gary (Judy) Everhart of Bollingbrook; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Rolls, Elbert, Eldon, Keith and Howard in infancy. Mrs. Brown lived all her married life in Macomb. She was a secretary at MacArthur School in Macomb for 20 years before her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Macomb, Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Macomb Singing Seniors. She was active in the Presbyterian Womens Group of the church as well as the church youth groups and Bible school. In her early years, she was a member of Fandon Christian Church. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 30, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb, with Rev. Ernest Louderman and Rev. Susan Coller officiating. Burial was at Camp Creek Cemetery in Industry Township. Memorials may be made to the church or charity of the donors choice. |
