Russell F. Lawson, age 80, of 10735 E. Eagle Pass Rd., Ellisville, Illinois, passed away at 10:47 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Galesburg.

He was born Jan. 6, 1920 in Ellisville the son of Jay Marion and Eve L. Knott Lawson. He married Mildred L. Snider in 1938 in Canton, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1961.

Survivors include one son, Gary Lawson, Ellisville; two brothers, John B. Lawson of Bushnell and Woodrow Lawson, of Miami, Florida; one grandson, Garrett Lawson, Ellisville, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Frances Lawson and two brothers.

He farmed in the Ellisville area.

He was a member of the American Hereford Association.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Dr. Robert Holler officiating.

Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
