Ernest V. Lenzi
Ernest V. Lenzi, age 86, of 168 North Cone Street, Farmington, Illinois, died at 12:37 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000 at the Farmington Center. He was born April 2, 1913 in Farmington, Illinois, the son of Vincenzo and Albina Mattarrozzi Lenzi. He married Nina Sutton on Jan. 11, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Virgil Lenzi, Edwards, Vance Lenzi, Portsmouth, Rhode Island and Dr. Victor Lenzi, Dunlap; two daughters, Margo Warfield, Peoria and Mary Ellen Chatterton, Avon; one brother Guilio Jiggs Lenzi, Washington, Michigan; one sister, Marie Young, Eldon, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one brother and two sisters. He first worked for three years at Silver Creek Mines then Ford Motor Company. He owned and operated Trivoli Stone Quarry, then last owned and operated Farmington Hardware for 35 years. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, Farmington. He was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge #1571, Farmington and a volunteer Farmington Fire Fighter. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at his church with Father William Miller officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials may be made to his church. Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, was in charge of the arrangements. |
