James Jim L. Ferguson
James Jim L. Ferguson, 58, Roseville, died at 9:10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Community Medical Center, Monmouth. He was born March 4, 1941 in LaHarpe to Charles N. and Maxine (Bice) Ferguson. He married Karen Johnson, Nov. 17, 1967 in Roseville, who survives. He is survived by his mother, Maxine Long, Blandinsville; stepmother, Lola Ferguson , Burlington, Iowa.; sons, James Ferguson Jr. and his wife Peg, Logansport, Ind. and Timothy Ferguson, Macomb; daughters, Kimla Tyson and her husband Mark, Rushville, Julia Blair and her husband Keith, Plainfield, and Suzanne Ferguson, Macomb; nine grandchildren, Samantha and Cassie Ferguson, Sara Rose and Nicholas Tyson, Tyler and Ashley and Caleb Ferguson, and Adam and Nathan Blair; sisters, Judy Oliver, Janet Johnson and Jean Mershon, LaHarpe; and brother, Larry Long of Blandinsville. He is preceded in death by his father, stepfather, one sister and half-brother. He received his education in LaHarpe, and has been a Roseville resident since 1966. He was a high school athlete and continued his interest in sports throughout his lifetime. He had worked at Eagles in Galesburg, Jerrys Big Value in Roseville, Carol Jeans in Abingdon, and Meeks Grocery in Roseville. A dedicated and strong Christian, he was a member of the Roseville Christian Church. Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 20, in the Roseville Christian Church with senior minister Robert Brunk officiating. Interment was in Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Cherilyn Thomas was pianist and George and Sandy Campbell were vocalists. Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were: Larry Johnson, Terry Mershon, Brad Johnson, Greg Jensen, Kevin Johnson, Harry Bycroft, Gerald Huston and David Huston. Leon Monical and Allen Dehority were honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Roseville Christian Church, or to Community Medical Center, Monmouth. |
