H. Virginia Anderson

Funeral services for H. Virginia Anderson, 82, a resident of Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, were held Tuesday, Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel. Rev. Marty Smith officiated and interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Trivoli.

A daughter of Cecil and Bertha Alpaugh Reed, she was born Oct. 20, 1917 in London Mills.

She married Elwood H. Anderson on March 10, 1937 in Tremont. He passed away Aug. 8, 1993.

Her parents, a son Gary Anderson, five brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Anderson died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000 at 4:20 a.m. at the care center. Memorials may be made to the family.

She leaves: seven sons, Roger Anderson, Peoria, Chad Anderson, Albuquerque, N.M., Terry Anderson of Freeport, Charles Anderson of Galesburg, Mike Anderson of Abingdon, Timmy Anderson of Bartonville, and Elwood Anderson Jr. of Lakeland, FL.; 11 daughters, Bonnie Johnson and Alice Peterson, both of Galesburg, Carol Sue Schuh of Creve Coeur, Jeanne Seiver of Greenbush, Lucrecia Blunt of Roseville, Margaret Yerkey of Monmouth, Nancy Smith of Abingdon, Mary Clay of Springfield, Sara Holler of Peoria, and Debby Hopping and Judy Swan, both of Bennett, NE.; three bothers, Rudy Reed, Decatur, Dr. James Reed, Trivoli, and Willard Reed of Peoria; four sisters, Marsha Lou Little, Ottumwa, IA., Barbara Jean Osborn of Sterling; Alice Aden of St. Louis, MO., and Greta Kumlander, Yates City; 50 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and was a member of the Baptist faith.
