Ray Mills Jr.
Ray Mills Jr., 76, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Macomb, died Feb. 25, 2000, in Scottsdale.
He was born Feb. 10, 1924, in LaHarpe to Ray and Goldie Thatcher Mills. He married Flossie Berg-Stewart July 22, 1956, in Macomb. She survives. Also surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Alice Mills of Tennessee; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Mr. Mills worked for Sears in Macomb before moving to Scottsdale in 1970, where he worked for Humana Hospital until his retirement in 1989.
He served in the Armed Forces in Germany and India and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He loved fishing, hunting, camping and traveling in his RV.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Feb. 29, at the LaHarpe Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to either the Macomb VFW or the Macomb American Legion.
