Sylvia Louise Carlile, 87, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly for rural Macomb, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at 6:21 a.m. at Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Graves County, Ky., to Albert and Mollie Dobson Wray. She married Rex H. Carlile May 29, 1929, in Monmouth. He died Jan. 2, 1991.

She is survived by one son, Richard Carlile of Burbank, Calif.; two daughters, Audrey Drake of Rock Island and Shirley (Bob) Mathers of Bonita Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; two sisters; one son, Donald; and one grandson, David Drake.

Mrs. Carlile retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1971, and moved to Arkansas and lived until 1991.

Services were Friday, Feb. 25, at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chuck Dorsey officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
