Teresa Connor, 91, of 827 E. Calhoun St., Macomb, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at 3:20 p.m. at McDonough District Hospital.
She was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Colchester Township to Peter Francis and Mary Ann Murphy Whalen. She married Clifford Connor Jan 31, 1940, in Macomb. He survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Joe Whalen of Colchester; two sons, John (Barb) Connor of Tennessee and Gene (Ann) Connor of Macomb; three daughters, Mary Welch of Colchester and Loretta (Roger) Baucom and Marjorie Connor of Macomb; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Bernard Whalen; two sisters, Gertrude Pittenger and Margaret Spangler; one son, Thomas; one son-in-law, Paul Welch; and one granddaughter, Kathleen.
Mrs. Connor was employed as a cook at Macomb Manor.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb and St. Pauls Altar and Rosary Society and Womens Guild, and worked on many church dinners. Her family was one of the original families at St. Pauls. She also was a member of the Emmet Household Science Club.
She loved gardening and flowers and having her family and grandchildren around, and was famous for her homemade rolls and coconut pies.
Services were held Wednesday, March 1, at St. Paul Church, with Father Richard Pricco presiding. Burial was in St. Pauls Cemetery. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
